Job Description: As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration systems and equipment for our clients. Your expertise and attention to detail will ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and reliability of refrigeration systems in diverse settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your skills and experience in a dynamic and growing company.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, refrigerated display cases, and HVAC units.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system issues using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of refrigeration systems.
  • Replace or repair defective components, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, motors, and thermostats.
  • Test refrigeration systems for leaks and make necessary repairs.
  • Perform system recharging and evacuation procedures according to established guidelines and regulations.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including refrigerant handling and disposal.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, explaining repair options, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to refrigeration systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize and complete service calls and projects efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper care and handling of tools and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Military background preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. Additional technical training or certification in refrigeration or HVAC is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic, demonstrating strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve refrigeration system issues.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems related to refrigeration and HVAC.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to refrigeration system repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to clients.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

  • The Refrigeration Mechanic will work both indoors and outdoors, depending on the project requirements.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions and physical exertion, including lifting heavy equipment and bending, may be required.
  • Occasional travel to client locations may be necessary.
